1:00 - 1:50 p.m. Topic: "The Next Generation Takes the Corner Office, will Our Payments and Treasury Change?"

Description of the changes in demographics in the U.S. workforce and the preferences of the emerging younger demographics that are expected to encourage use of certain payment methods over others.  Payment methods will be compared and contrasted so the audience can consider which methods work best for their operation and vendor profile.

Speaker: Conrad Steinmann, Jr. CTP, VP - Trade Finance Product Manager, CapitalOne Bank

Conrad Steinmann is a Vice President at Capital One Bank in Treasury Management Product Management, part of the Commercial Banking division.  He is responsible for managing the International Trade Finance product suite that includes commercial trade, standby guarantees, bankers acceptances and related international payments.  Conrad works closely with Relationship Managers and clients across Capital One’s markets to structure Trade Finance and International solutions and to develop new solutions that meet market needs.  Before joining Capital One in 2011 Conrad spent four years at BNY Mellon Treasury Services where he managed several strategic development projects, launched and managed the insurance market management function, and represented the division to the Canadian regional management team.  Also, Conrad worked at Citigroup Transaction Services division where over 11 years he held various global product and market management positions in New York City and Tokyo, Japan.  Conrad managed or marketed products such as US Dollar Clearing, Yen Clearing, Continuous Linked Settlement, Global Consumer Remittances, and domestic cash management services in the U.S. and Japan.  Conrad’s recent conference presentations include the New York Cash Exchange in 2015, Dallas AFP Big D Conference in 2014, and the AFP of Western New York Conference in 2014.  In addition Conrad is a regular speaker at Capital One client events.  Conrad received a master of business administration in finance from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor of science in accounting from Penn State University.  In his free time Conrad enjoys the beach in the summer, football games in the fall, and Metropolitan Opera in the winter.   

2:00 - 2:50 p.m. Topic: "Electronic Payments Risks/Fraud"

The challenges facing the business community and the banks in using and providing electronic payment services continue to increase. New methods to defraud banks and their customers have been introduced.  New requirements from the bank regulatory agencies require Banks to monitor customer payments more aggressively. In order to combat fraud and meet the requirements of the bank regulatory agencies, banks and their corporate must cooperate on a number of fronts. The presentation will discuss the new challenges and explain how banks and their corporate customers can cooperate

Speaker: Elliot McIntee, McIntee Payment Advisory Service LLC

Elliott is currently the CEO of McEntee’s Payment Advisory Service LLC, a consulting business specializing in working with companies in the electronic payments industry. The services offered include: 1) creating product development and marketing plans, 2) developing risk management and fraud detection strategies, and 3) writing expert witness reports and testifying in court.

In December 2008, Elliott retired from NACHA - The Electronic Payments Association, after serving 20 years as its President and CEO.  NACHA oversees the operations of the ACH Network and develops its operating rules. Prior to joining NACHA, Elliott was the Associate Director for Payment Services and Policies on the staff of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

During the past 5 years, Elliott has provided consulting and expert witness services to over two dozen organizations and pro-bono assistance to government agencies and non-profit organizations dedicated to helping low income and immigrant families obtain affordable financial and payment services.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from San Jose State University, San Jose, CA.
