Session 1:  "The FBI and Cyber Safety”

Special Agent Kara Sidener is a private sector coordinator in the FBI's Washington Field Office.  She'll discuss the various outreach mechanisms the FBI leverages, including InfraGard, to partner with private industry.

Speaker: Kara D. Sidener, Special Agent / Private Sector Coordinator, FBI - Washington Field Office / Northern VA Resident Agency

Kara Sidener is a Special Agent with the FBI and currently serves as a Private Sector Coordinator for the Washington Field Office (WFO).  Her 24+ years with the FBI have all been in the Washington, DC area, having had assignments at WFO, FBI Headquarters, and the FBI Academy. Kara has experience in a number of areas, including counterintelligence and cyber investigations, evidence response, instruction and training, and private sector outreach. She is a member of the Behavioral Analysis Program team; and was a member of WFO’s Evidence Response Team and a first responder to the Pentagon on 9/11/01. Kara has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master of Forensic Sciences degree, both from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICIES

Sessions generally will be cancelled only for inclement weather. If the U.S. Government closes due to severe weather, the session will be cancelled. Every effort will be made to notify registered participants of the cancellation by email. In the event of advance payments, participants may request funds be applied to the next upcoming meeting provided 48 hours of notification are given.

Complaints should be directed to the Education Committee at education@gwafp.org; if resolution cannot be achieved at this level, the complaint will be reviewed by the Executive Committee.
